Do you want to increase your confidence consistently, every single day? Do you want to start seeing results like you’ve never seen before, no matter what you’re striving to achieve? Do you wish there was one simple action you could take every day to make sure you’re living the life you want to live?
Today is the day we tackle that one thing that will get the ball rolling and help support you in accelerating the growth in your life. Before we do that, however, we need to know what it is we’re trying to achieve.
Think of it this way: confidence is like a high-end vehicle. It is beautiful to behold, but its purpose is generally to get you where you want to go.
So, what is it that you’re aiming to achieve? What are you currently steering your confidence toward?
Maybe you want confidence to be able to date more successfully; maybe you need confidence to be able to speak up more at work; maybe you need confidence to be more bold in your business (increase your rates, go after big clients, etc.). Get specific, because if confidence is a vehicle, then we need to steer it effectively.
Now that you know what you’re after, try to determine your greatest fear in pursuing that goal.
Let’s look at an example from real life:
If your goal is to improve your work situation, then get specific about how you need to do that. Are you too nice? Are you letting people take credit for your work? Are you letting your coworkers treat you with no respect? Are you missing opportunities to speak up about your big ideas? Now, for each of those issues, there is probably a long list of things you could do to remedy the situation . . . but which one scares you the most?
Are you afraid to sit down with a coworker and have a conversation about how he or she treats you? Are you scared of speaking up boldly for the first time because of how people will judge you? Are you afraid of changing your behavior and offending someone?
All of those things can be very uncomfortable—but they’re the things that are going to get you results the fastest.
Confidence is a byproduct of bold action.
The more action you take, the more confidence you will have . . . period.
It’s a very simple formula. If you want to increase your results, then you need to take more bold, assertive, consistent action—especially when it scares you.
Now, if you’re sitting there listening to this and starting to have a mini panic attack, then take a breath and step back for a moment. Firstly, there are a lot of actions you can take on the way to your most bold action. The important thing is just to start taking action.
At the same time, however, you can start to work toward that boldest of actions by accessing any of the many resources you can find online, including those at my website, SocialConfidenceCenter.com.
